May 5, 2020, Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec – In this context of uncertainties, Quebec Government has decided that the health measures put in place to protect citizens from COVID-19 will have to be respected in the longer term. Consequently, it is with great sadness that the Fondation en horticulture de l’ITA de Saint-Hyacinthe, managing Jardin Daniel A. Séguin, informs its stakeholders that the 2020 Garden’s season is cancelled.

In accordance with the decision of the City of Saint-Hyacinthe to close public parks and public spaces until June 1st and, due to the closure of the Institut de technologie agroalimentaire, the Garden will not hold its annual spring sale this season.

We are fully grateful to our valued partners, customers and visitors who support the Garden year after year. This season is our 25th anniversary and understandably we have to postpone our exciting celebrations until the reopening in 2021. However, we will once again offer a high-quality experience next year, a trademark that has made the reputation of Jardin Daniel A. Séguin to this day. In the meantime, a team is in place to maintain the site, as well as its famous traditional and educational plantations.

The Garden will continue to fulfill its educational mission with horticultural students next Fall and will look for ways to serve its recreational, touristic and cultural vocation within the community until the opening in 2021. The Garden will provide different web-based activities as a guest within your home backward. Follow us in the coming weeks! The program will be revealed on our social media and website https://jardindas.ca/. Hopefully, we will gather again soon!
